Yes. Veilborne was the working title during development. The Android package ID is still com.prairiedigitalstudios.veilborne, and older trailers and screenshots carry the old name. It is the same game, by the same studio.

Prairie Digital Studios, LLC, an independent studio in Kansas City founded in 2026 by developers with more than ten years of professional software experience. Harrowbound is the studio's first game.

It depends on the realm you play in. Harrowbound has two realms with different shop rules, and each hero lives in one of them. On Origin, no purchase grants stats: the shop sells cosmetics and convenience only, such as skins, avatar icons and speed passes. On Empyrean, the shop adds power: XP and gold passes, damage and magic find bonuses, stat tomes and trial-key bundles, for players who want to pay to go faster. Neither realm sells gold or gear, and on both everything gameplay-critical can be earned by playing.

No. Gear drops from play and equips mid-run. Nothing random is sold for real money, and gold is never sold. The Relic Broker, where you pick an equipment slot and buy one unidentified relic for it, takes only gold earned in play. Every paid item is fixed: you see exactly what you get before you buy.

No. Nothing gates a run. You can run the Veil, portal runs and events as often as you like. The Gauntlet is the one mode with an entry cost: it takes trial keys, which every Veil run banks for free. Key bundles are sold too, but buying them is never the only way in.

Only rewarded ads you choose to watch, in exchange for a boost. Nothing is interrupted by an ad. Passes raise the daily ad allowance or remove the limit.

Nothing to download and play. In-app purchases are optional: cosmetics, season passes, trial-key bundles, timed boosts and lifetime passes. Passes are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.

No. Harrowbound needs an internet connection, because combat is resolved on the server and progress lives on your account. What it has is offline progress: close the app and your hero keeps earning gold and XP for up to 8 hours, paid at the level of the farthest Veil you have cleared.

It can. Active play means choosing doors, skills and gear between waves; auto-play repeats runs for you. Auto-play unlocks for free once you clear your second Veil. Combat itself is hands-off and tactical: the build you bring decides the fight, not reflexes.

Before every wave you choose one of two doors. Each door shows its stars and rewards: more stars mean tougher monsters and bigger rewards, and one door is always the gentler option. Every door you clear banks its spoils, so a run is a series of small risk decisions rather than one long slog.

The Gauntlet is a timed trial: ten waves on the clock, entered with trial keys, across 35 tiers. Clear a tier to unlock the next and post your best tier to the weekly leaderboard. It is the mode that tests whether your build is as strong as it looks.

At level 50 you can ascend: reset your hero's level, keep permanent power, and choose ascension boons that reshape the next journey. Ascending is how a hero grows past what a single run can give.

Four classes: Warrior, Mage, Rogue and Hexbinder. Each has four skill slots and twelve skills, an augment system that changes how each skill hits, four talent trees with notables and keystones, socketed gear, and seven-piece sets with bonuses that change how you fight.

Yes. Guilds with chat, weekly guild rifts and Convergence co-op runs; a fresh VeilBrawl PvP arena bracket every day; and horde events and boss rushes with leaderboards and weekly rewards. Everything can also be played solo.

Players who want to build one hero and have the build matter, who are done with gacha, loot boxes and energy meters, and who want a game that keeps earning while it is closed. It is not for players who want to collect a roster of characters, play with no connection, or play on a PC or console.

No. You can play as a guest from the first tap. Linking an email, Apple or Google account keeps your progress if you change phones and lets you play the same heroes on iOS and Android.
